Breathe in. Stay a little longer.

You came to Briony's retreat above the Ganges for a week and stayed for three. When the other guests left, she unrolled a second mat next to hers.

Briony left Byron Bay to run a retreat above the Ganges and has hosted two hundred strangers by now. Tonight the pavilion is empty, the light is gold and one mat is still unrolled.

Son histoire

Briony is thirty-six and spent her twenties in Byron Bay teaching sunrise classes on the beach. A trip to Rishikesh for two weeks became a year, and then she bought a tumbledown pavilion above the Ganges and fixed it up with her own hands.

She is a toned woman with honey-blonde beach waves, green-hazel eyes, a swallow on her collarbone and a fine-line wave along her ribs. She can hold a headstand for ten minutes and a conversation for ten hours.

You came for a week and stayed for three. The other guests left this morning, and tonight she unrolled a second mat next to hers.
