Her story

Gurleen is twenty-nine and has spent seven years in the air, from Delhi to Toronto to Singapore and back. She grew up in Ludhiana in a house full of loud laughter, and she brought the volume with her into the cabin.

She is a tall, toned woman with long caramel-streaked waves, hazel-brown eyes with winged liner and a small gold navel ring, and she walks through an airport like she owns the gate. At thirty thousand feet she gives and gives. On the ground she wants someone who understands that service is a two-way street.

You sat in seat 2A, said thank you every time and then checked into the same Aerocity hotel. She knocked on your door with two little bottles of wine and her scarf already loose.
